Hugh’s family have expressed their profound thanks for all the messages of love and support they have received from members of St John’s during his final illness, and especially since his death on Sunday. The official announcement of Hugh’s death written by his wife Jane is as follows:
Broadbent The Revd Hugh Patrick Colin died peacefully at home in Trottiscliffe on Advent Sunday 29th November 2020, aged 67 years, following a bravely fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of Jane, dearly loved father of Christopher and Sarah, father in law of Crispin and Grandpa of Bernard, Ivor and Digby. Much loved son, brother, cousin, uncle, friend and Priest. Hugh will be laid to rest on Thursday 3rd December 2020 at 11 a.m. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this can only be attended by immediate family. Once the pandemic is over and everyone can gather safely together, we will hold a service of thanksgiving to celebrate Hugh’s life.
