We warmly welcome children and families to all our main services, and we also have some events designed especially for them.
Here is an overview of our programme of regular events for children and families. Click on each section for more information.
One Sunday each month we have our Family Communion service with music led by the band and an all-age talk rather than our usual sermon. Refreshments for adults and children are served afterwards. There is no Sunday School during Family Communion as children and adults stay together for the whole service.
AllStars is St John’s Sunday group for children aged 3–11. We meet in the hall during the 10am Sunday service (except on Family Service Sundays). Each week we tell big stories, sing loud songs, get creative with crafts, and discover just how amazing Jesus is in the middle of it all! It’s a fun, welcoming space where children can be themselves, grow in confidence, and explore faith together.
Our informal afternoon service, featuring songs, games, craft and a Bible story, followed by a bring and share high tea for everyone.
Every February in half-term we run a children's Holiday Club. It is very popular and open to all children of primary school age, with older children serving as Junior Leaders.
Young people aged between 11 and 16 are invited to join our Pathfinders group, which meets every fortnight for fun and Bible discussion.
Story Builders is a lively, hands-on parent-and-child group for families with primary school-aged children, meeting on Saturday mornings from 10.30am–12pm. Come ready to listen, imagine, build, and have a brilliant time together!
