Mayor of Bromley ‘enchanted’ by the children of St John’s

The Rev Andrew McClellan

The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Hannah Gray, was guest of honour at our 5pm Christingle service on Sunday 13th December. She listened with great delight as the band played and sang a selection of traditional Christmas carols, and joined in the fun by swaying to the music of ‘The Virgin Mary had a baby boy’.

The Mayor’s party included the Deputy Mayor Cllr Stephen Wells and the Mayor’s Chaplain Major Angela Strickland.

Outside church after the service the Mayor met some of the stars of the Nativity Play and told them how much she had enjoyed the video.

There will a collection in aid of the Mayor’s Charities The Chartwell Cancer Trust and Cystic Fibrosis Supporters at our Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Sunday 20th December.
