Back to lockdown for the next four Sundays

The Rev Andrew McClellan

In case you haven’t heard the news, lockdown is back and church buildings are required to stay closed until 2nd December, when the special measures are due to time out.

Throughout November St John’s will have a weekly Sunday service at 10am LIVE STREAMED on our home page.  A recording of the service can be downloaded from 11am on the same day.  Our 8.30am services are currently suspended but we look forward to resuming these on 6th December.  4 O’Clock Church will continue to meet fortnightly (next session this Sunday, 8th November) but via Zoom.

I am personally very sorry to see this return to lockdown, especially since our live 10am service on 1st November was one of our best ever, featuring the triumphant return of our marvellous band!  Their excellent playing and singing brought smiles to very many faces, and I am very grateful indeed to them for leading our worship so wonderfully.  Please join me and Christians across the UK in praying that the lockdown really WILL be lifted at the beginning of December, otherwise we will find it very difficult to extend our usual Advent and Christmas welcome and to share the good news of Christ’s birth with our wider community.
