As the crisis in Afghanistan unfolds along with the evacuation of many who are fleeing the country, Christians will be considering how we might help those in need and especially our sisters and brothers in Christ. For now, here are some links to organisations already working both in Afghanistan and here in the UK.

Barnabas Fund

"Barnabas Fund is in direct contact with 306 Afghan Christian families, that is around 2,000 individuals. We are currently assisting about 400 Afghan Christians (men, women and children) who have recently escaped into a neighbouring country. We are caring for another 400 still in Afghanistan. We are also preparing to enable 1,200 to get out of Afghanistan and into safe countries."

Tearfund

"Tearfund’s local partners are on the ground now, providing life-saving relief packages. These include food, cooking equipment and vital hygiene supplies such as soap and face masks. They’re also offering trauma support to people who have witnessed the horrific violence."

Asia Link

"We are also welcoming donations towards the relief effort. All donations to our Action fund between now and the end of September will be allocated to work among those who have fled Afghanistan. This will include support for those crossing borders into neighbouring countries, as well as those arriving in the UK with empty hands and broken hearts. In each case, work amongst the displaced will be carried out by communities of believers with a heart for sharing the gospel."
